GIS ANALYST

Professor G. William Skinner seeks a geographic information systems analyst for spatial analyses of the modern transformation of agrarian societies, including contemporary China and 19th century Japan and France. This position is responsible for spatial analysis and digital cartography using ArcGIS software including ArcScan and ModelBuilder, managing large spatial datasets including detailed contemporary and historical base maps, physiographic and socioeconomic regional systems, and administrative units linked to tabular files of demographic and economic data. Excellent writing, organizational and team skills required. Background in social science research, computer programming or geostatistics experience, and reading knowledge of Chinese, Japanese, or French preferred. 75% time with full benefits.
