Senior GIS Specialist and GIS Analyst

Technology Associates Positions Available:

Technology Associates (TAIC) is a dynamic and rapidly growing environmental and information technologies firm providing science-based, cost effective natural resource and environmental GIS solutions.

TAIC has a state-of-the-art GIS consulting group that has extensive experience in utilizing GIS technology for land use planning and natural resource management studies. Our staff has successfully implemented GIS as a tool for mapping and analysis on over 300 projects that often involve implementing complex GIS models for regional planning purposes. TAIC uses ESRI software, including ArcGIS, ARC/INFO, ArcView, and Arc Internet Map Server (ArcIMS). Our GIS staff brings over 175 years of combined experience with ESRI GIS products, with direct experience in the use of GIS for resource management planning studies.

TAIC’s Environmental Services Division specializes in the following technical areas:

• GIS-based habitat evaluation modeling and species distribution modeling (raster-based)
• GIS integration with modeling and conservation software
• GIS-based preserve design and alternative analysis
• GIS Enterprise database design and implementation
• ArcView and ArcGIS (ArcObjects) application development
• Biological database collection and compilation
• Biological field data collection utilizing all technologies
• Working and Presentation map production
• Web (ArcIMS) development and hosting
• GIS-based statistical analysis and reporting

Open Positions:

GIS Analyst: Responsible for the implementation of GIS technology to public works and environmental projects. This position requires a degree in geography, management information systems, environmental sciences, landscape ecology, or closely related field, and a minimum 3 - 4 years of direct experience in GIS using ESRI GIS software (ArcGIS, ArcInfo, ArcView). Strong technical skills in ArcMAP is required. Additional skills with ArcIMS, SDE, Visual Basic/.NET programming, and/or Spatial Analyst (GRID) is preferred.

Senior GIS Specialist: Senior GIS leader for projects involving the implementation of GIS technology to habitat conservation planning and environmental projects. This position requires a degree in geography, management information systems, environmental sciences, landscape ecology, or closely related field, and a minimum 7 - 8 years of direct experience. Strong skills in GIS database design, principles, and techniques, and advanced technical abilities using current ESRI GIS software, raster-based analysis, and programming/automation are essential. Additional experience using GIS habitat conservation planning software is preferred.
