Staff Environmental Scientist ($5445-6575) - Division of Flood Management, Central Valley Flood Protection Branch, Sacramento. (Final Filing Date: 03/04/09). The Central Valley Flood Protection Planning Branch, in conjunction with the Delta-Suisun Marsh Office, is recruiting a Staff Environmental Scientist for a challenging and rewarding position combining flood planning and habitat restoration in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Central Valley. The successful candidate will be a key member of a senior team developing a program to mitigate habitat impacts of levee repairs, focusing on the Assembly Bill 360 (Delta Levees) Program. Key tasks include developing funding mechanisms and agreements to manage conserved properties, collaborating in the development of systems to track habitat gain and losses, monitoring land use change, and developing an integrated programmatic plan for mitigation. Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of fiscal aspects of land conservation; experience in programmatic permitting; experience in project management; and experience in ecosystem restoration and the application of landscape-scale planning principles.
